Reviews about our club

Oshawa Italian Recreation Club is one of the most renowned clubs in Canada for Canadian-Italian citizens. With our dedication to providing a home to our community, we continuously improve and ensure that we create events and activities that can boost the morale and relationship of our organization members.

Over the years, we’ve been trying to improve our service and we’re proud to say that most of our members are happy and satisfied with outstanding service. If you’re curious to know more, here are some of the member reviews on Oshawa Italian Recreation Club:

I’ve been living in Canada for 5 years now as an expat and I have to admit, it’s a bit hard to catch up because I didn’t know anyone in the city. Thankfully, a friend directed me to the Oshawa Italian Recreation Club and here I met with Canadian-Italian people like me. It was like a breath of fresh air because they were all so welcoming and made me feel like I was home. Every weekend we had gatherings where we bond and talk about anything under the sun. It’s nice to have family and friends in a different country.

When you’re living in Canada as an Italian-Canadian, it’s hard because not everyone can’t understand where you’re coming from. Everything is different. The food, music, culture and other things that you’re used to are not the same. When I moved to Canada, I thought I’ll never find friends I can hang out with. Fortunately, I met a friend who was a member of Oshawa and I was surprised because they were all so welcoming and supportive. I never spent a weekend alone and enjoyed the monthly activities organized for us.

I’ve been living with my family in Canada for 5 years and this is the place where my kids grew up. However, I hoped for a community where they can tap their Italian roots and get to know more about their culture. When I discovered Oshawa, I was ecstatic because everyone was familiar with our Italian heritage. Now my kids know everything from dishes to the national anthem of Italy. What’s more exciting is that they get to play with kids their age and learn from each other.

Being a member of Oshawa, I learned a lot of things about my Italian heritage I didn’t know about. When I moved to Canada, I was 14 and I didn’t know much about culture except the language. When I joined Oshawa 2 years ago, I was surprised at the exciting things I learned from my fellow members. Being together feels like one big family. What’s more exciting is that I can meet new people and bond with them over our unique culture.
